Friendship

-

Friendship is a unique concept that I believe not very many people truly understand.

-

Friendship is one of the few things in the world that an individual truly has a “choice” in or about.

-

As an individual, we can choose who our friends are. We cannot pick our families, our mothers, our fathers, our children.

-

Friendship, however is totally a choice thing, which is why we should be choosy when it comes to making decisions about who our friends are.

-

Friendship in itself is a strong term that should not be thrown around or taken for granted.

-

People often make the statement “I have many friends”; when in fact you have many associates; People with whom you are familiar. Friends are those rare individuals who have your best interest at heart and are there regardless of circumstance. Friends are God Sent. Treasure them as they treasure you.

This article is true in all its content. A principle we as humans should practice and teach our children. Instead of being caught up with the things of the world or what society deems normal...Its ok to be considered abnormal........

Well spoken. Friendship is something that I take verys seriously. As mentioned in your statement"Having many associates" is true. There's friends, associates and someone you just happen to know. Friends are a choice and also from the heart. Sometimes even considered as family. You experience rare moments and share unique pleasures with friends.

I absolutely agree with your wonderful expression on friends. Parents would do a great service to their children, family and society in general if they taught them the value of what "true friendship" means. By having a realistic view of their inherent worth and not needing validation from any of their peers, they would be very discriminating in calling someone their friend. As stated, the label "friend" should denote characteristics of trust, honesty, fairness, generosity, etc. Most children, who are blessed to have the benefit of loving and caring parents, should recognize early on that their "bestest friends" are their parents; who will be there for them when all else fails.

Very insightful. I have seen many "friends" come and go. Unfortunately, someone may have to experience adversity in their life before they realize who their true friends are.

I think friendships are just as valuable as family sometimes they're one in the same. Be aware of who your friends really are.(family)
