Friendship Between The Sexes

There are those who say men and women cannot be friends. That the sex factor will always be an issue and it will get in the way of the relationship. I realize there are those who cannot distinguish between the platonic, professional, and romantic interests in regard to dealing with the opposite sex. That obvious or secret attraction will always be a circumstance in the male/female interaction.



It does not have to be if maturity and respect are active ingredients in an individual's psyche. That goes for both men and women. Now, there is nothing wrong with emotions and even romance developing from a casual relationship. 

However, friendship should be the building block to which any and everything is grown. And with that being the practice, it is possible for the sexes to co-exist without drama. "But" we all know drama is a constant in our world.



So be intelligent, responsible, and dignified. Historically, men and women have endured every obstacle in the realm of human experience, for better or worse, and regardless of their chosen station in the life of a relationship, the male and female dynamic endures. Marriage, boyfriend/girlfriend, good friends, confidants, homie-lover friends, study-buddies, kissing cousins, and so-on and so-on.



Remember, care and consideration is the true basis for friendship between the sexes.
